Bye Brooke, Hello TOP 4

May 1st, 2008 by denniessiongco

As you may have already known already, Brooke White blacked out yesterday and was eliminated from the American Idol contention.  Now we are down to the Top 4.  Who among Syesha, Jason, David A and David C will win the coveted title of American Idol.  Here are my insights on what will happen on the next few shows (and who will be eliminated and how…)

We now have a couple of scenarios that could happen depending on how Nigel Lythgoe want this all to play out:

Syesha_0430 Syesha Mercado leaves. To create an all-male Top 3 and a potential ratings disaster. I dont think this is going to happen.

Poor Syesha. I feel bad for her. Her name has been floating around since the Top 12, but it was Fox’s own fault for having a token black diva in the competition. Syesha has no fans, but her presence on this show is crucial. She embodies so many archetypes she is literally indispensable (black diva, the “survivor”, now the only female, the “underdog” etc.) They may even use her in the finale!

Syesha Mercado is further evidence that this show is rigged. Syesha has been in the Bottom 2 or 3 a staggering 6 times out of the last 8 weeks. How America can do this with cut-throat precision for 2 MONTHS (putting her in the bottom, then saving her) specially when MILLIONS of votes are allegedly involved is amazing.

And yet, these fans never bother to buy ANY of her recordings or form any fan clubs. So you either believe that a Syesha fan is poor, no access to iTunes or simply doesn’t care for any song she has sung on the show — OR that she has no fans from the very beginning.  And since I believe the latter, logically there is no way that Syesha will leave next week — just as I have been predicting for the past few weeks if anyone noticed.

Jason_0430 Jason Castro leaves. The most likely outcome.  I feel bad for Jason.  Never has there been an all-male Top 3 and I believe this is not going to happen this year. If the show was so willing to let go of Michael Johns before the girls, then they will let go of Jason Castro before Syesha Mercado. The fact that Jason was not in the Bottom 2 this week should tell him that he is on his last week no matter what happens… unless…

One of the shock elims happen:

Davidcook_0430 David Cook leaves. David Cook has been compared with Chris Daughtry all season, and David Cook going at this spot where Daughtry left is certainly a possibility. Maybe he’ll be eliminated just to stress the point. David Cook is now assured to be signed by 19 Entertainment to a recording deal, and it really doesn’t matter when he leaves. Shock elimination? Rocker-redemption with a win? It’s all for dramatic effect. It’s very likely that David Cook will be the best-selling act for Season 7, just like Daughtry.

David_a_0430 David Archuleta leaves. This will be the shock elimination to end all shock eliminations. And if this is going to happen, it’s going to happen in the Top 4 for maximum effect having Syesha and Jason in the mix. If American Idol so decides that they want a shock elimination for the sake of having one, I think it will be Archuleta over Cook since David Archuleta was the early favorite which faded by not appealing to anyone outside of his core fans. This will make headlines for a long time which a true shock elimination should.

And if either David leaves in the Top 4 or Top 3, the other David will win for sure — and will place Syesha Mercado in the finale much to the shock of the Universe.

So will there be a shock elim? It depends on how the Top 4 show will pan out — you know, the “script” — Simon Cowell has yet to utter the words: “I think you can win American Idol” — which is the guaranteed seal of approval. But I doubt that a shock elim will happen.

Davidcook58 A David vs. David finale is too good to pass up. It will have a Clay vs. Ruben feel to it, which was arguably the best finale match up ever on American Idol. Ryan Seacrest may even use the “it is the closest vote ever” line all over again.

And in that scenario, I have to disagree with Rickey, David Cook will be the American Idol, just like Carrie Underwood vs. Bo Bice. It’s actually a total win for Fox, since they will have a finale where the audience will be unsure of what happens, then the rocker as the winner, which has never happened in Idol history. Also the fans (cookies), whom others say will not sit down and dial the lines to vote, will prove to the world that a rocker is definitely going to be the next American Idol and I think “America” will do that.

The hottest American Idol Ever:
David Cook is the most popular contestant right now even if David Archuleta is “perceived” to have legions of fans in people’s minds. So it will still be interesting how the show manages to justify David Archuleta will win in the finale — just like Carrie Underwood with “Angels Brought Me Here”. This is why a David Cook elimination is not out of the question.

If indeed David Archuleta is the chosen one (my High School Musical market theory) and TPTB feel that little David will not be able to pull it off vs. big David in a head-to-head match up, then David Cook might go in Top 4 or 3.

But I think American Idol will find a way to make a David vs. David finale work and in the end, David Cook will seal the victory with millions and millions of votes.

Also, there are 3 more weeks. Anything can still happen.  But one thing’s for sure, David Cook will win American Idol… And we will be here all the way to support him!

Paula Ruins A.I. by Reading “Pre-Written” Comments

April 29th, 2008 by denniessiongco

Paula Abdul Ruins American Idol by Reading "Pre-Written" Judges Comments.

Fresh from www.rickey.org this is what happened during the show!

I totally did not enjoy tonight’s show because Paula Abdul just revealed that this show is rigged. I really don’t mind if this show is rigged, because I’m all about the entertainment, but to have Paula Abdul spill the secret sauce just like that tonight was very disappointing.

Basically, due to time constraints, the judges were going to give their comments for two songs only after the second song. However, after all the first songs were sung, Ryan Seacrest asked the judges what they thought of the songs so far for all the Idols.

Randy rattled off his comments with precision, then come Paula’s turn, reading her notes she made her “comments” about Jason Castro’s first song and then Jason’s second song, and what she thought about both songs. Before she said her stuff about David Cook, Randy corrected her that it was just the first song. Randy, Simon and Ryan then scrambled to save the situation. Paula then tried to cover up herself by saying that the comments she had read (which were NEGATIVE) were supposed to be for David Cook. (!!!)

Come Jason’s second song, Paula Abdul repeated her “fight” comment from her earlier flub. Geez. Paula can’t ad lib if this show depended on it.

I think the mere fact that Paula revealed that they had notes for the second unsung song is enough to cast doubt — so from the dress rehearsals up to the preformances Jason Castro was continually not “fighting”? If Randy did not stop Paula, she would have most likely read all her notes for the contestants and she looked visibly confused at what had happened. PAULA is HIGH AGAIN !!! :-P

Here’s the clip of the said comment. Click HERE.

Neil Diamond Night at American Idol

April 29th, 2008 by denniessiongco

Its Neil Diamond Night (who the f–k is he?) on American Idol!  The Top 5 American Idol will once again prove their versatility by singing the songs of Mr. Diamond tonight!

Remember, each idol will sing two songs since there are only five of them left (how many songs does Neil Diamond have anyway?)

Again, thanks to Rickey, we were able to get the live blogging of the show.  Ur awesome Rickey!

Jason_0430 First to sing tonight is Jason Castro.  His first song is Forever in Blue Jeans.  This song has a western touch so this song will fit Jason’s voice definitely and he did not fail the audience.  His second song is September Morn.  This song is so sad.  It gives such a melodramatic aura, which fits Jason’s voice perfectly.  Good choice of song!  I think Jason will be safe for another week.

Davidcook_0430 Next to sing is David Cook and his first song for the night is I’m Alive.  This song is perfect for the Cook because its has a kindda rock and roll beat.  Im not sure if this is the original arrangement, but if its not, then Cook has re-arrange another song and made it a hit!  His second song is All I Need Is You.  This proves that the Cook can sing anything.  This song is a mix pop ballad slow rock tune, and the Cook was able to carry the song perfectly.  David Cook for the win!

Brooke_0430 Midway down the group is Brooke White with the song I’m a Believer.  I dont know but I never liked Brooke from the start.  The song sounds awkward for me.  I think the Cook would have given the song more justice.  Her second song was I am… I said.  This song was better for her voice.  Soothing rendition.  At least she was able to sang this one better.  I think she’s definitely going home this week.

David_a_0430 Second to the last is David Archuleta with the song Sweet Caroline.  As expected, he was going to sing this one.  The one that would swoon the teen-age girls!  His rendition was ok for me.  He had better performances in the past.  At some point, he has a tendency to shout which is bad at this stage of the contest.  His second song is America.  This one is better than the first one.  Dont worry,  I think he will be safe this week.  Im not expecting another shocker elimination.

Syesha_0430 To close the show will be Syesha Mercado with the song Hello Again. I like her performance of the song, perfect for her voice.  She’s showing more character now.  I liked her rebonded look.  She’s trying to reinvent herself to appeal more to the audience.  Way the go Syesha!  (I think Jason should do something about his dreadlocks as well)  Her second song is Thank the Lord for the Night Time.  Again, good song choice, right for her voice.  The new look is perfect for the song!  She wants to stay one more week.

To all COOKIES, dont be complacent!  Lets support DAVID COOK.  If you are in American and you can vote, dial 1-866-IDOLS-02 or 07.  Again, lets not be relax.  Lets make sure David Cook will go all the way and win the title.  David Cook is our next American Idol!

For my fearless forecast.  I think the bottom 2 will be Jason and Brooke, but Brooke will definitely go home.  Lets see how American will vote.

This week on American Idol

April 28th, 2008 by denniessiongco

The IDOLS will be tackling Neil Diamond Songs this week.  Why? Why do they have to pick Neil Diamond?  How many songs does Neil Diamond have to punish the Top 5 which such hard song choices?  And to think this week, they will start singing TWO SONGS each!  My God! What did they do to be punished like this?

Anyway, here are my song choices for each contestants

David Cook - America, Marry Me

David Archuleta - Morning Has Broken, Love On the Rocks

Jason Castro - Hello Again, Forever in Blue Jeans

Brooke White - Sweet Caroline, Hello Again

Syesha Mercado - Cherry Cherry, I am… I said

It really sucks to have Neil Diamond this week!  I hope the audience wont be lull to sleep!

American Idol Top 6 Performances

April 22nd, 2008 by denniessiongco

American Idol Top 6 performs song from the Andrew Loyd Webber songbook.  (Broadway here we come!)  Expected to do well tonight will be Carly and David A.  Lets see what they will be singing.  Thanks again to Rickey for updating his site as the show happens.

Opening the show is Syesha Mercado with the song One Rock N Roll Too Many from Starlight Express.  Syesha was awesome tonight!  Surprisingly, she did very well with her song.  Its by far her best performance ever!  Its up to her fans to save her.  Show some love for Syesha.  Call 1-866-IDOLS-01 or 07.

Next to perform is  Jason Castro with the song Memory.  Jason is really very dorky.  The choice of the song was very brave.  He actually made his version of the song.  It was ok, but the judges didnt like it.  To save Jason, dial 1-866-IDOLS-02 or 08.

Third to perform is Brooke White with the song You Must Love Me from Evita.  OMG!  She broke down on the second line of the song.  She had to repeat the song from the start.  I think we are in for the total nervous breakdown tomorrow from Brooke White.  Time to say good bye to Brooke.  In case you feel like saving her (and her pleading works for you), dial 1-866-IDOLS-03 or 09.

After Brooke is David Archuleta with the song Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera.  Another OMG!  David A. forgot the lyrics again!  Very brave song choice.  According to Sir Andrew Loyd Webber, this song was written for a diva.  He was able to put his own personality to the song!  To vote for David A, dial 1-866-IDOLS-04 or 10.

Second to the last is Carly Smithson with the song Jesus Christ Superstar from the play with the same title.  Wow!  Thats all I can say!  She made the right choice of song!  The song fit her strong big voice!  She’s really has the "it factor".  To vote for Carly, dial 1-866-IDOLS-05 or 11.

Closing the show today was David Cook with the song Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera.  OMG!  Very HOT performance!  David Cook is on a hot streak!  I bet all the girls in the audience were imagining they were beside David Cook!  This is really shaping up to be a David A.- David C. finals.  To vote for David Cook, dial 1-866-IDOLS-06 or 12.

My fearless forecast.  The bottom 3 this week will be Brooke, Jason and Carly.  And going home tomorrow will be Brooke!

How to deal with “Pasaway”

April 22nd, 2008 by denniessiongco

How do you deal with "Pasaway" na employees?

Here are some wonderful suggestions.

1. Befriend that employee.  Try to gain his trust.  Once he trust you, you will be able to manipulate him like a machine.  If you have his trust, you can also know what hanky panky he is up to.

2. Make a surprise inspection.  Surprise in a sense that no one knows except you.  If he is doing something nasty, this would be the best time to catch him red handed.  If not, then he will think twice in doing something not good.

3. Keep it cool!  If you are too strict, the employee will start doubting you.  Keep it cool and calm.  If you suspect that your pasaway employee is doing something nasty, try to observe first.

4. Lastly, let them feel they are not needed.  If they feel you dont need them that much, they would be the one who will do their efforts.
